Car Accident Care With a Letter of Protection
What Is a Letter of Protection?
A letter of protection is a written agreement, usually sent by your attorney to a healthcare provider, stating that the provider's bills will be paid from any settlement or judgment in your case. The provider agrees to treat you now and wait for payment.
How It Works at Heal 360 Rehab
1. Your attorney sends the letter of protection to our office.
2. Dr. Ringer evaluates your injuries and builds a plan based on your exam.
3. We document your symptoms, exam findings and progress at every visit.
4. With your authorization, we send records and bills to your attorney's office. Your care doesn't change because of how it's paid for.
Questions to Ask Before You Sign
Terms vary, so ask your attorney: Am I responsible for the bill if the case doesn't recover enough? How are bills handled if the case settles for less than expected? Can I use PIP or health insurance for part of my care? What happens if I change attorneys?
Don't Have an Attorney Yet?
You can still be seen. Many patients start care with PIP or health insurance. Call (469) 573-4223 and we'll talk through your options.
